Multiplexing allows lenders to route a request to a service provider based on a predefined routing logic such as weighted round robin. This requires the lender to subscribe to multiple vendors for a service or process area. This feature over a period will allow the lender to get insights in to the provider that offers the best price or performance and so on.
- Lenders can decide to enable multiplexing for each connector.
- The lender can choose the percentage distribution of requests to be routed to each service provider in a service area.
- FinConnect uses a weighted round robin logic to pick the service provider to be invoked in the order received.
- If the lender wants to override the round-robin logic or get a revised rate quote for an existing quote, then they should send the vendor or product code in the request.
- FinConnect supports the service provider routing exception rules as follows:
- Planned downtimes in provider systems.
- Providers’ service unavailability - unplanned downtimes.
- Credentials expiry, leading to login issues while submitting orders.
- Network Issues.
- FinConnect supports a retry mechanism for a reattempt delivery of the response to lender's system if the notification listener is down.
-
FinConnect returns a standardized MI Rate Quote response (based on MISMO 3.3, with extensions for FinConnect).
-
FinConnect returns the Correlation ID sent in the request as part of the response.
-
FinConnect returns the completed response, once the MI provider request is successful and complete.
-
If an MI Rate quote request to a Provider 1 fails, FinConnect will retry the request with a different Provider (if it qualifies as part of the retry rules).
- Retry will be initiated if the failure from provider qualifies for a retry and listed in the retry rules list.
- The error from the provider 1 is provided in the successful completed response from provider 2 to the Lender.
-
The retries leads to multiple transactions on FinConnect for a single request from lender. This can be viewed using the transaction reports.
