Address validation/Address verification is the process of checking a mailing address against an authoritative database to see if the address is real. If there is a matching address on file in the database, the address validates, meaning it is a real and bona fide address. Addresses that find no match in the database are marked invalid, meaning the address either does not exist or it is not registered. United States Postal Service (USPS) is the authoritative database for address lookups in the United States.
USPS® provides Address services® to facilitate address validation through following FinConnect operations.
