The Verification of Employment (VOE) returns the borrower’s employment details, which is used to validate the borrower’s employment details that is stated in the loan application.
The following are the services offered by VOE systems:
Obtain an instant (synchronous) VOE response.
Perform a Researched Verification (RV) if the employer is not found.
Return an instant response in a synchronous process. In case, the Instant Verification does not return any results, the request falls back to RV, which is an asynchronous process.
Return the status of the order (RV or Waterfall).
Retrieve a completed order.

The consumer does not need to initiate a separate transaction for the Researched flow.
